Jasmin came by with piles of tamales from Nana for the knitters!  Such a happy day!

And Kate is getting the Covid Vaccine this evening!  Such a happier day!

Dropped presents off at Brian's house, Chloe helped carry them inside - 2 for 1!  The happiest day!

December 6 Report

So Sunday was a relatively mellow day.  Spent most of it cleaning upstairs in anticipation of the guy coming to clean out the ducts.  Was able to knit a little, but I seemed to keep dropping stitches.  So I have set the wrap down and will rip back and start the color over from the other end of the ball.  The end I am working on is getting a little worn, and I think that is contributing to the dropped stitches.

Dec. 6 Yarn is a lovely blue grey with splotches of rust - sooooo pretty

Dec 5 Report

Best day in December!  We drove to Monarch Crest and met Kate and Tyler and Clark.  We had a car ful of birthday presents, christmas presents and decorations.  We loaded them up!  I was so very, very, very happy to see Kate.

And Day 5 Yarn . . .

a lovely dusty rose/apricot . . . the yarns are just wonderful.

I am so loving this wrap and the yarn - soft, but not too smooshy - and the colors are so perfect for me.  And the order in which they are being revealed . . . I am very happy with it all.

I ran errands all over town, and wrapped presents to take to Kate.  Basically a lovely day!

I forgot to post yesterday's yarn . . . and things are going well.

Finished the first repeat of my Advent wrap!  It took 3 tries, but it got done!

And here is the next one

Wednesday, December 2, 2020

Today was the beginning of my Advent Yarn Calendar from Lanivendole in Italy.  I ordered this back in October and I have been so excited to get going.  I opened the package to a cute little greeting card with a mitten stitch marker attached.

I chose to use the ADVENTuresome Wrap pattern from Ambah O'Brien.  It was her advent pattern from 2019.

Since the pattern requires a Main Color used from start to finish, I opened the Dec. 25 package from Lanivendole.  It is a 50g/225m skein.  It is a lovely olive green.

And since it was Dec 1 - I opened the Dec 1 package - a rusty berry color called Barbera.  The package also included a sweet little handmade gingerbread man stitch marker.  This skein was 20g 90m.

OK - I missed Nov 30 . . . and it was a lovely day!  We drove down and met Joan for a little walk.  I dropped off an Advent Calendar with . . . Jelly/Honey/Jam!

Also stopped by Fancy Tiger to pick up an order - I got a free tote bag.  Then we swung by Brian's house.  We swapped turkey leftover concoctions.

 A quiet day.

Brian came over with some boxes.  I knit a while.

 A lovely Thanksgiving, if solitary.

I was proud of myself that I had not procrastinated - bought the turkey last Friday allowing it to defrost in the fridge.  Usually I buy it on Monday and put it in a cooler full of water in the kitchen.  So I pulled out a FROZEN turkey!  What the heck!  Thank goodness I pulled it out fairly early and had time to defrost it in the sink, but it was a day of a lot more work than I was planning.

Brian and the girls came over to pick theirs up and it was such a treat to see them all.

Just before falling to sleep the owl started hooting like crazy outside my window.  So cool - just wish I had been able to see him.

Yesterday was busy!  Running errands - post office, Wooden Spools, Kings.  But I do believe that I am ready for the Thanksgiving feast.

Zoom was lovely - our core 4 plus a couple of others.  I have indeed missed seeing Carol and will work at reconnecting.  Jane shared a watercolor book she is using and I think I will follow up on it.

I have almost finished the hats for Vella's girls in Chicago, so Geo can send those off and he will be pretty much done for gifting.

We were going to meet up with Kate and Tyler at Monarch - everyone would ski - kinda (hahaha) but Monarch is not open due to lack of snow, so we have put it off for a week.  Which means that I am in a bind for the Cheers for 30 Years project.  So I got on Amazon and ordered a bunch of things for Kate.  Not half bad cuz I don't have to worry about shipping!

Off to plan to cooking for tomorrow.  Am indeed thankful.

ps - Jeopardy categories were special today!

Well maybe I need to be blogging in the morning about the day before . . . we shall see

The day was spent doing more cleaning and re-arranging and getting stuff back in place after the floors.  Set up the living room to accomodate the Christmas tree.  Moved things around some to see what looked best, and it will be nice.

The fireplace got cleaned and serviced, so now we can turn that on.  I especially like it in the morning when there is still a little chill in the air.

The birds are sure happy that we are providing plenty of seed for them.  We are sure happy they are hanging around.  Kate called it - Bird Feeder/Snow Meter.

So the 22nd was a busy day, and I didn't post!  But so much to do and fun to be had.

We got the furniture back in the house.  Ben and Will Vickland helped us move the heavy stuff.  We still have a long way to go and we are very pleased with the refinished floors.

As a "virtual" Birthday party for Chloe's 16th, I arranged for all of us girls to do some painting.  We zoomed a Canvas and Cocktails session and painted "Phases" of the moon.  Marley had a wild hair and painted "death stars". It was fun to also see Tyler rooting for his Raiders with Clark by his side.

Brian and I don't believe that Thanksgiving feast will happen as a group, so I have to determine how I am going to cook and get half a turkey to him and the girls.  I do love to cook Thanksgiving dinner, so we should be good.

Thankful

I had a little blip in the status quo of my universe, and felt a little sorry for myself, and whined to myself that this has been a dreadful year.  Realty is that there have been some nice stuff along with the not so nice stuff and I need to remember that.  So we will try to work on that.

Today Pop and I spent many hours scrubbing walls, painting trim and getting things moved back in place.  Between the freshly sanded floors and our cleaning efforts, the house is going to shine.  And it is lovely to know that will be the end result.

So there is effort #1 at the Thankful project, a brief mention of what I did today.
